The Chess Learning Process

The Chess Learning Process

The Chess Learning Process

Chess is a complex game that demands a high level of concentration, and patients to be successful at it. You can never really master the game to its full potential because after the first two moves the game is almost infinite. In the last couple of years I have set off to make my self a master player, I have played chess since I was 9 but I never really made any progress to this year until I read Josh Waitzkin book The Art of Learning. It opened my eyes to something I had never liked doing, and a lot of amateurs player don’t like doing, and that is studying the game. A lot of players just play but never put in the hours of deliberate practices to be a master. We see masters play, and we say well the reason why he/she is so good is because he can see 20 moves ahead, and has a memory like a computer in which master players do have great memory’s, its not because they are born with a super brain but because of 10,000 hours of deliberate practices. Chess master learn by chunking  positions into patterns that is turning random letters into words just like you learn your ABC's. When you was a baby, and from their you learn how to read that is the same way a chess master learns to play any position on the board, if you like skateboarding like me, and have skated then you must know that the  cool moves you see Tony Hawk, and many others doing takes a whole lot of HARD PRACTICE to master. When it took me more then a 100 attempts just to do one kick flip, and just because I did one kick flip does not mean I have mastered it so why could I do 100 kick flip, and only land 1 but I don’t like to practice my chess game well I know why at least to me, read a chess book when you are a beginner like I was 9 years ago with no coach are anyone else that likes to play and wanted to be a great player like me it is very hard to do! if you start reading a book that’s to advance you will not play chess very long because you will be confused by advance material you must learn the basic of the game first then you must repeat everything you have learned over and over an till you get it down then you need to find a player who is more stronger then you and is also trying to  better his game, you got to be motivated you have to really love the game if you want to go far in your chess career, but the main thing is you got to have fun skateboarding is fun! and that is why i  can practices so hard chess has to be fun and that's why i like the Internet you can have fun while you learn to play better chess.
If you cannot afford a coach that is, OK you really do not need a coach an to you are pass the expert level the many problem that newbies and players under 2000 Elo is tactics and hanging pieces you dot need to know how to do a 360 kickflip if you do not know how to do a basic kickflip.

                                              Ryan Couture  vs. Lee Higgins
Ryan Couture who has a professional record of 2-0, this will be his second fight in strikeforce and one with major implecateions cause a win tonight could many bigger fights on strikeforce in the near future.Ryan Couture is the son of ufc hall a framer Randy couture and just like his dad,Ryan has a great ground game both in wrestling and brazillian jujitsu, which he has won his last two fights by submission.

Lee Higgins is a undefeated mma fighter with a 2-0 record from what i've seen via the internet the guy has a great ground game, in his last to pro fights he has won by rear naked choke which he has used the same submission to win the marjor of has fights.

                                                           WHO I PREDIT TO  WIN
This will be a fight against to very accomplished ground fighters both have won most of there fights by submission. I think Ryan with his elite training wlil get the win in the in round 3 via TKO.

FEDOR IS NOT RETIRING

Fedor Emelianenko is not retiring after the brutal beat down he took from Antonio  Silva, in the first round of the Strikeforce World Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament, coming into the fight Fedor and Silva was clearly a mismatch weight wise just like the UFC Brock Lesnar used his superior size to dominate Frank Mir,Silva got on top and never let up the, ground and pound from Silva was devastating. Now that Fedor Emelianenko has lost two fights straight in Strikeforce and contemplated retirement,he needs to take some time off relax and start training in Brazilian Jujitsu, comeback and move down to the Light Heavyweight division. He still has all the skills to be a Champion he is just not the best heavyweight in the world anymore, he can still be the best Light Heavyweight in the world, he just has to train harder and fight guy's his own size,he really needs to work on his BJJ submission defense.

THE EVOLUTION OF CHAD MENDES

CHAD "MONEY" MENDES The stand-out UNDEFETED TEAM ALPH MALE FEATHERWEIGHT and URIJAH FABERS prodigy in the division is becoming a great striker in his last THREE fights he have really improve his stand up game and, he is not just using his superior wrestling to smother his opponents. If he can keep this pace up he will be challenging the CHAMP JOSE ALDO even if MENDES comes into the fight undefeated it will still be hard for him to over come the beast of the division ALDO, but he has great training partners and one of them is one of the most exciting and toughest fighter in the UFC,URIJAH FABER who has already fought ALDO and knows how dangers the man is, so when the fight does happen MENDES will have a great game plan and look for more improvements in his stand up and jujitsu game, his last three fights was wins against top competition in each win he is showing his skill's in boxing, throwing combinations and good straights what else would you expect from a TEAM ALPH MALE fighter.

COWBOY DOES IT AGAIN

DONALD “COWBOY” CERRONE Went into UFC 126 without even knowing who he was going to fight that is just how dictated and hunger the former WEC lightweight Contender is,when the fight started his opponent PUAL KEELLY Throw a sucker punch CERRONE just takes him down the rest of the first round PUAL KELLY should some great boxing connecting with hooks, uppercuts and straights while the COWBOYS excellence kickboxing was able to keep the first round close .In the second round
KELLY continue his great striking to throw CERRONE off his game but in the end the top notch submission game of COWBOY DONALD CERRONE seals the deal, he gets a huge take-down and KELLY never gets back up as CERRONE submits KELLY via (rear naked choke) 3:48 of the second round. After the fight KELLY tried to apology for his dirty move at the start, for CERRONE next fight he needs a more all around opponent that will push him to show the UFC how great of a fighter he is maybe Ultimate Fighter Season 5 Champion NATE DIAZ.

KENNY FLOIRAN IS A FEATHERWEIGHT

Big news in the UFC former lightweight contender KENNY “KENFLO” FLORIAN is now a Featherweight fighter in the UFC, this move is great for KENFLO since he is 34 years old and he wants to be a UFC champion his time to achieve that is running out, his last fight was against the bigger and better wrestler GARY MAYNARD he was not able to overcome the strength and ground and pound of GARY in the fight and that was the main reason in he lost, The fight witch was a lightweight number #1 contender-ship match, he is still a top 10 lightweight fighter in MMA . Lets face it the UFC lightweight division is stacked right now it world be very hard for him to get another title shot even the UFC President DANA WHITE question his ability to win the BIG fight. With this move down in weight he can now reinvent his self and get his chance to get a UFC belt in a short period of time. before the fight with MAYNARD he was saying how he wanted to fight UFC featherweight champ JOSE ALDO and be the lightweight champ. FLOIAN told ESPN”for me its first things first. My goal is to get the 145-pound belt, and then go up to 155 and challenge for that belt as well.” For this move to work KENNY must train harder then he ever has if he wants to beat the divisions pound for pound king JOSE ALDO.

THE JOURNEY OF JONNY BONES JONES

What more can you say about the best athlete in the UFC Johnny “BONES”Jones the guy is phenomenal he has every tool in his tool belt to become a great champion for a long time .Youth is his greatest asset, the guy is just 23 and he has all ready got a shot at the belt, that is out of this world but the road was not easy he had to go through some tough SOBs to get where he is now, from Vera who was a standout heavyweight before he moved down to light heavyweight a very gamed Matt hamill who rich Franklin had a hard time with and the Russian vet Vladimir matyushenko who he beat with some of his fancy but accurate moves and he just beat the bigger guy Ryan Bader to cement him self as the number 1 contender for the UFC Light heavyweight belt and the guy is smart you got to like his work ethic he has a great team with top notch training partners who are contenders themselves, and he is very dedicated to the fight game we could be looking at the future champ and possiblly the pound for pound king down the road.

THE GREATEST IN THE UFC

Anderson “ THE SPIDER”Silva knocked out all of his critics with a first round knockout of former middleweight champ Vtor Belfor with a Steven seagal inspired front kick. Before the fight I had said that Silva is the pound for pound KING!!! of the UFC now you have all the media pundits saying that he is the best. To me the fight between GSP and Anderson Silva should have happen after GSP Beat koscheck and Silva beat loud mouth chael sonnen  please comment if you think that I am wrong about this but dana white wanted to see one of them lose so they want have of to put the poster boy of the UFC in a fight with sliva but this is what sports is all about the two best guys going at it, we don’t want the UFC to turn into  collage football where you have to teams calling them selves the number 1 teams, so hopefully we will see the mega fight of the year after GSP vs Shields fight. So Silva can once and for all show the world that he is the best!!!!!!!

ROY NELSON VS BROCK LESNAR

Why did the UFC pass on LESNAR VS NELSON come on lets see the former UFC champ fight the  former IFL CHAMP “BIG COUNTRY ROY NELSON" is a legitimate fighter why hold him and the fans back from a great fight the MMA fans wants to see.Roy Nelson  won the ULTIMATE FIGHTER: HEAVYWEIGHTS in excellence fashion why not put him in the cage with UFC heavyweight  “THE NEXT BIG THING”. Come on if Roy Nelson beats Frank Mir what are the chances of him getting a title shot but it is all most guaranteed that if Lesnar beats Dos Santos He will Get a title shot just look, at the way they are promoting the fight it's like a number 1 contender ship fight by making Lesnar and Dos santos the Ultimate fighter 13 coaches. Frank Mir is one of my favorite fighters but he is on a two fight losing streak, why give one of your top heavyweights such a fight? Please comment if you think I am right or wrong but I think its cause of  Dana white don't won't to see a top fighter from another promotion beat the former UFC Champion. ROY NELSON has the stand up which we seen against Kimbo Slice,Brendan Schaub and the ground game when he submitted Frank Mir in a GRAPPLING MATCH.

Who is your favorite chess player

Chess Is A Mental Martial Art

Chess is a mental martial art

Recently I Viewed A Video On YouTube About Bruce Lee, And He Was Defining What A Martial Art Was, He Said  That Martial Arts Was A Combative Art And A Philosophical Life style.

When I Heard This I Said To Myself This Definition Is Not Only For Physical Martial Arts But Also For Mental Martial Arts Witch Include,Chess,Weiqi,Shogi, And Chinese Chess.

Theses Mental Arts Are the Same Just Like Samurai Would Train Diligently With His Sword As Well With  His Mind So Does The Great Chess Masters. Both Know battle field Tactics And Strategy Both Must Be In Good Physical Shape To Complete Again Other Top Opponents But,There Is All Ways The Exception.

The Same Principle's That Sun Tzu Teaches In The Art Of War Are The Same Principle's You Learn In Chess. Any Military General Will Tell You To Occupy The High Ground And He Who Does It First  Has The Advantage, In Chess The High Ground Is The Center Of The Board.

In Chess There Are Different Style Of Play Mainly Positional And Tactical But At The Highest Levels  Of  The Game Positional can tun Into Tactical Play And Tactical Play Can Turn In To Positional Play, Like Bruce Lee Said I Use No Style As Style Be Like Water. The Same Goes For The Yin-Yang Symbol  There Is a Litter Black In White And A Litter White In Black  This means Harmony And Balance In The Way ,Same Goes For The Great Chess Masters. Here Is The Bruce Lee Video If You Want To See It Thanks  Be Like Water.

There Is Also The Connection Of Pattern Recognition And The Kata Forms Of The Different Martial Arts Learning Theses Forms Or Patterns Is A Key To Success In Chess As Well As In The Martial Arts.

If You Want To Read More About The Connection Between Martial Arts And Chess I Recommend You To Read To Books Which Both Deal With This Very Close Relationship Please Click The Links Below.
